Out of all the berries, blackberries are my favorite. A good blackberry cobbler is enough to make me break down and cry!
I remember picking blackberries with my grandmother in Mississippi. I would be so stained from the juice that it would look like I had been playing in ink. :) She taught me how to bring them home and carefully wash and pick through them. Then we would start the process of making a cobbler. No seeds were allowed in Mama Eze's cobbler. We had to be extra careful to get them all out at the straining step. Her crust was flaky and buttery and mouthwatering.
I wonder if I could get Blackberry plants to grow here in north Florida. I would love to pick blackberries again and make a cobbler with her recipe.

I have a muffin recipe that uses all the berries you want - strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries but definately not cranberries *blech*.
And I too love the way the blackberries stain my fingers when eatting the muffins...
*suddenly feeling the urge to go cook*
mmmmmmm COBBLER mmmmmmmm
;))
Hey Courtney, that berry muffin recipe sounds delicious! Want to share?
