My husband had the RV bug a few years ago. We bought a motor home and spent many days on the road traveling to rv parks. He loved it but it wan't my thing. Fortunately he got over it after a couple of years and sold the RV. He finally admitted that it was a lot of work.
Lately we are having a flashback to those days. One of his good friends got the bug and bought a 5th wheel trailer. Since then I have seen my husband looking at camping magazines again. I am so worried that he is getting RV fever again. I am thinking of suggesting that we rent one for a week to remind him what it was like.

Flashback
Fruit Dip
We have been enjoying lots of fresh fruit lately and I have been digging out all of my dip recipes. Here is a super easy one.
Fluffy Fruit Dip
1 8 oz container of Cool Whip, thawed
1 8 oz container of coconut flavor yogurt
Gently whisk the two together until well mixed. Place into a bowl and serve next to a plate of fresh fruit slices. Sprinkle the fruit with coconut if desired.

Saturday Socializing
My lazy Saturday just turned into a busy one. I lost control and invited some friends over for dinner this evening. I think my husbands needs some company to cheer him up. We'll have happy hour on the deck so I need to clean the patio furniture. Then I have to go to the grocery to pick up whatever I decide to cook. Maybe I'll hit the fish market and see what is fresh today.

Errands Are Calling
The one sure thing about getting back into town is that all of the errands are still waiting for me. I am off to the grocery, hair dresser, dollar store and finally the post office. That means I get to drive past the water park, skaetboard ramps, and outlet mall. Just in case you forgot I live in a resort town in Florida and it is the height of tourist season. The traffic should be fun today!
Success
I have been absent for a while because my husband had surgery. We had to travel out of town for a good doctor. The hospitals here are adequate for run of the mill stuff but for more complicated operations it's necessary to travel to a large medical center. I am happy to say that everything went well. We are back home and he is recovering nicely. It's good to get back to a regular routine.

Keep Your Fingers Crossed
Keep your fingers crossed for my sister in law today. She is waiting for a call to see if she got a job that she has been wanting for a long time. She's had all the interviews and the employee screening so now it's decision time. The competition is fierce but she is excellent at what she does so I think she'll get it.

So Important to Do
Thinking about the couple that was murdered has me thinking about what happens to children when their parents die. I know it is not something that we like to think about, but if you are a parent you have to. Besides designating someone to take custody of them, you need to provide for them financially with an insurance policy. Life insurance quotes are easy to get, please do so if you don't already have a policy.
Such Sad News Here
A local couple who has dedicated their life to helping disabled children was murdered in their home the other night. He has been a very successful business man and they decided to share their wealth with children by adoption disabled children that others did not want to adopt. At the time of the murders there were 14 children in the house. It looks like the motive was robbery. If these robbers knew enough to know that they had money, they probably also knew about the children. The couple is well known. Their actions are too despicable for words.
Summertime Blues
I think I am getting a case of the summertime blues. This summer has involved too many happy hours and ice cream treats and my shorts are getting snug. It must be time to dig out that article I save on the best diet supplements and pick one out to start using. If I don't get a handle on this now I'll be a blimp by winter.

Plans for the Smoker
We have company arriving tomorrow for the holiday weekend. I am planning to give our electric smoker a work out. I hit the grocery today and picked up baby back ribs, a couple of whole chickens and some sausage. The plans are for a couple of cold salads and some homemade barbecue beans to go along with it all. There's already a big watermelon in the spare refrigerator. I think I'll make my husband put on a tuxedo shirt and serve me cocktails while I supervise the cooking. There's got to be some perks for me in this somewhere!
Please Remind Me
Would someone please remind me why I live in Florida? I thought I was here because I like the weather and detest all things cold. But it seems like I live here for the purpose of running a bed and breakfast. I'm considering putting in a revolving door to replace the front one. People come in and out so much it might make things easier....OK, whine over.
